Who runs the handbook
The site is run by Artyom Kashirin. He’s been playing Black Russia for a long time: he started on one of the first color servers, then moved to a city server. He got his driving licence, worked construction and taxi jobs, rose to a mid-level rank in a government faction, and ran a small business. He checks the forum every week for rules, laws, and tests.
The handbook grew out of questions new players ask him: how to get a driving licence, why they got sent to demorgan, where to get money for their first car. You should be able to find an answer in ten seconds while the game is minimized. Longer explanations are there for anyone who wants to know why.
Find out where the information comes from
The stats, test answers, law articles, prices, and IDs on the site come from sources you can open and check. The main ones are official:
- Official Black Russia forum — general server rules, government organization rules, charters, the Criminal Code (УК) and Administrative Code (КоАП), answers for rank-up and HR department tests, color palette, vehicle IDs, and opening dates for all servers.
- Developer help center — over 200 articles in the official help center covering jobs, factions, families, crafting, promo codes, name changes, events, and Black Pass.
- Developers’ Telegram channel — updates and seasons since August 2020, new servers, and official promo codes.
We also use open player handbooks—promo code lists, price and income tables, and command lists—and YouTube videos from creators, along with viewer comments. These are where we find information missing from official sources, such as business payouts, job earnings, and new codes. These figures are player estimates. They depend on the server and player count, and we label them as such on the relevant pages.
How we compare sources
Official sources take priority over player handbooks. If two sources disagree, we include both versions on the page and suggest where to check in-game. Here are some examples:
- Mass DM: the help center says killing “3 or more” players; the forum test says “more than three.”
- Weapon licence: the help center says 70 law-abiding points; players say 100.
- Hobo Case: the official help center says 75 BC; the player handbook says 100 BC.
- Server rules: the Russian version on the forum and the help center version of sections 2.02 and 2.04 give different punishments.
Charters, laws, and test answers vary between servers. We use forum topics as our source, but the forum section for your server always has the final say.
Check when a page was updated
Every page shows its update date. Here’s what changes and how often:
- promo codes and update news — every day;
- servers — when a new one opens, usually 1–3 times every six months;
- rules, tests, laws, and commands — when a forum topic changes;
- vehicles, businesses, jobs, and cases — after major updates and new Black Pass seasons;
- colors and the experience table — almost never.
A promo code’s status tells you how old it is, not whether it worked when entered in-game. “Fresh” means the code appeared in the last 10 days or was reported as working this month. “Likely expired” means it’s older. Entering a code and checking the game’s response takes about half a minute—and that’s the only definitive check.
Check the answer if something doesn’t add up
A test answer doesn’t match, a command doesn’t work, or a code marked “Fresh” is already dead? It happens: the game updates faster than any handbook. Check your server’s official forum topic or the help center article—the pages on this site link to them. We recheck answers, rules, and laws against the forum every time a page is updated, and check promo codes daily.
Understand the site’s status
BR Guide is an unofficial fan handbook. It isn’t connected to the game’s developer or acting on its behalf. Black Russia is a trademark of its rights holder, who owns the game, server, and item names. External links on the site go only to official game resources and creator channels. Buying or selling accounts and in-game currency, using cheats, and installing third-party builds all violate the project’s rules. Our pages only warn you about these things and the consequences.
If this is your first time playing, start with the new player guide. The most popular sections are test answers and promo codes.
