The generator builds names from real first and last names: Russian, rare old-fashioned, or foreign, for men and women. It automatically adjusts women’s surnames, turning Smirnov into Smirnova. Tap any name in the list to move it to the top, then copy it.
At the bottom, you can check your own nickname. Enter it and the generator will show what to fix. It only checks the format. Only the game can tell you if a nickname is taken when you register.
Build a nickname that follows the rules
You choose your nickname during registration. The official game help lists four requirements:
- The format must be Firstname_Lastname, with an underscore: Ivan_Ivanov;
- Use Latin letters only, with no numbers, periods, or other symbols;
- The length must be 3 to 20 characters—that’s the limit in the registration article. The new-player article gives a different limit: no more than 19 characters for the first and last name combined, so it’s safer to stay within 19;
- No offensive or obscene words.
The server rules (section 4, “Account Rules”) add that your nickname should look like a real name:
- 4.06 — Use the Firstname_Lastname format in English. John_Scatman is correct; _scatman_John isn’t.
- 4.07 — Use no more than two capital letters: the first letter of each name. Surname prefixes like DeSanta and MacWeazy are allowed.
- 4.08 — Your first and last name must be real and make sense. Super_Man, Vlados_Vidos, and Machine_Killer are invalid nicknames.
- 4.09 — No profanity, insults (including disguised ones), politics, or religion.
- 4.10 — Don’t copy or fake another player’s or admin’s nickname, including by swapping letters like i for L.
For breaking rules 4.06–4.08, you’ll get a verbal warning and have to change your nickname. For 4.09 and 4.10, you may have to change it or get a PermBan. Find the full rules and punishments on the server rules page. The RP terminology glossary explains RP and NonRP nicknames.
Don’t use a celebrity’s name
There’s no separate rule saying “celebrities are banned.” But a nickname like Elon_Musk or Leo_Messi raises the same questions for admins as Super_Man: it’s a name, but there’s no character behind it. They’ll usually ask you to change it, and I wouldn’t risk it: changing your nickname later costs BC (donate currency).
It’s the same story with a blogger’s name, only worse: copying a well-known player’s nickname directly breaks rule 4.10.
Pick a nickname you’ll be proud to use
A good nickname in an RP game isn’t a handle. It’s a name that’s easy to remember and type. A few tips from experience:
- Keep it short. Players type nicknames in /id, reports, and commands. Marco_Rossi is easy to get right; Svyatoslav_Kozhevnikov probably isn’t.
- Match your role. Andrey_Sokolov suits a future police officer, while an Italian-sounding name from the foreign list could work for gangs.
- Avoid lookalikes. Before you settle on a nickname, search for it with /id. The command shows similar player nicknames.
The generator can make a nickname for a female character in the “Female” tab. And the official help lists names like Koshachiya_Miska as examples of invalid nicknames.
Change your nickname if you made a mistake
Made a mistake during registration? No problem. There are three ways to change your name:
- Submit a free request to the admins. Tablet → Menu → “Change Name.” This only works if your current nickname breaks the rules, for example uidrhgvked_kjdngkj or oi_ai. If your request isn’t processed, your nickname is already considered valid.
- Use a guest account, for free. After you link it to an email address or social network, the game will offer to change your name.
- Use the Shop, for BC. Shop → Services → “Change Name.” If the nickname is available, it changes right away.
A nickname you buy with BC still has to follow the same rules. Otherwise, an admin will ask you to change it again. If you ignore the request, your account may be blocked.
Your nickname change history is public. The /history command followed by a nickname shows the character’s previous names, so a new name won’t hide old debts or complaints.
The “inviter’s nickname” field during registration is something else: enter the nickname of the friend who invited you to the game. The promo codes page explains how it works and what you both get.
