The Hobo Path in Black Russia

The “Hobo Path” is Black Russia’s biggest YouTube format. A creator starts a fresh account, often on a newly opened server, skips donations, and sets a goal: buy a CLS or an F90, or build up a limited-edition balance. Viewers like comparing their progress with someone else’s, so people watch these series for years. “Hobo” here isn’t an insult—it’s slang for a newcomer with no money or property.

Which series should you watch in 2026?

Kreyt’s 2022–2023 episodes are classics, but the game has changed a lot since then. Since 18.09.2025, Uncle Slava has handled the tutorial, and since 01.10.2026, job earnings increase with your character’s level. Salvador’s “Hobo Path to the Limit” (August 2026) and Mr. Urban’s 2026 “Hobo Path” are closest to the game as it is today.

Start your own Hobo Path from scratch

This route is based on the official guide and in-game tables: levels, exam fees, and job requirements. Earnings are estimates without X2 or VIP, and may vary by server.

   Register. Your nickname must be Firstname_Lastname in Latin letters: one guide page says 3–20 characters, while another says no more than 19 characters for the first and last name combined. Your password must be 6–16 Latin letters. Enter a friend’s nickname in the “Invited by” field: you’ll both get rewards at level 3. You can’t create more than three accounts on a server—all accounts created after the third are blocked.

   Secure your account and claim bonuses. Link Telegram or VK right away. Without a linked account, you can’t reset your password later, and creators get 10,000 and VIP for linking theirs. Enter a promo code using /promo, then claim the rewards there after your next hour of play.

   Get your first cash. Complete Uncle Slava’s tutorial at the train station: after the first stage, you get money, XP, and a category B driving licence valid for 7 days. Then try level 1 jobs with no requirements: the farm (harvester, milkmaid, beekeeper), mine, or factory—40,000–70,000 per hour.

   Get your licences and documents. A medical card at the Hospital (больница) costs ₽5,000 and takes 10 minutes. At the Driving School (Автошкола) in Lytkarino, category A costs ₽1,500, B ₽2,500, C ₽5,000, and D ₽3,000. You need 13 correct answers out of 15, and licences last 30 days. Category C unlocks the combine harvester, garbage truck, and long-haul trucker jobs.

   Take a level 3 job. Try treasure hunting (metal detector and shovel), taxi driving (category B licence), garbage collection (category C licence), or car theft. At level 4, you can become a hunter with a weapons licence from the Government (правительство) for ₽30,000. At level 5, you can join the Ministry of Emergency Situations, work as a gas technician, or become a pickup point courier (ПВЗ).

   Buy your first car. Cheap models in the low-end dealership sell out fast—the dealerships restock at 15 minutes past every hour. You can sell a car to the government instantly with /sellcar, but for less than you paid: in the videos, a ZAZ bought for ₽20,000 sells for ₽10,000.

   Make bigger money. Builder unlocks at level 8; long-haul trucker at level 10 (category C licence, medical card, and at least 50 lawfulness)—both earn around 250,000 per hour. Electrician unlocks at level 12, cash-in-transit courier at 15, and diver at 18. Flip cars at the car market between runs.

   Buy a business. You can bid at auction from level 3. You’ll need the government price in cash: a workshop costs from ₽500,000, and a pickup point from ₽10,000,000. Don’t trust screenshots of a business’s payout—its income—and complete business tasks: four days without doing them means the government confiscates it.

How much XP you need for each step

Jobs unlock at certain levels, and levels require XP. You need 20 XP for level 3, 56 for level 5, 140 for level 8, 216 for level 10, and 680 for level 18. You get XP from PayDay at the end of each hour (if you’ve been active for at least 20 minutes), quests (up to 2 points each), and cases. Gold VIP gives you 2 points at the end of the hour; Platinum VIP gives you 3. See the level page for the full table and ways to level up.

Where creators waste time

• Car theft. Enzo makes 15,000 per run and says to “forget it.” Monya gets 8,895–9,920 per car, with a 7-minute cooldown.
• Fishing. Monya’s test came to about 890 rubles per minute—the slowest method.
• Events for a single prize. Salvador spent four hours grinding “Storm Cup” for a case, then admitted it was a waste of time.
• Casino. Kreyt only goes for a quest and advises you to quit in time: losing your starting cash is all too easy.
• Buying Black Pass at the end of the season. Kreyt advises against buying it if there are fewer than 10 days left in the season—you won’t have time to claim the rewards.

Don’t turn your Hobo Path into a scammer’s path

Almost every creator has an episode about getting scammed: Enzo’s “I Almost Got Scammed Out of All My Money,” Bestik’s “They Scammed Me Out of All My Stuff.” Ask to see the vehicle title (ПТС), make deals only through the trade system, and don’t hand the keys to strangers.
