Use the department radio when the Traffic Police need help from the Police Department, when an organization opens transfers, or when it wants to claim the government airwave for an announcement. It’s an official work channel, so its rules are stricter than those for regular chat.
Use /d only for work-related messages
The department radio is for four things:
- claiming government airtime;
- coordinating with other organizations;
- announcing open applications to transfer into an organization;
- discussing RP situations.
Format your message like this: your organization’s tag, the recipient, then your message. The recipient can be another organization’s tag or [ALL] if you’re addressing everyone:
According to the command list, /d is available from rank 7. For internal conversations, use /r, your organization’s radio, or /rn, its non-RP version. On the street, use the /m megaphone. See all the official commands in the commands guide.
Learn the organization tags
Posting in /d without a tag is forbidden. Here are the tags for the eight government organizations:
- [Пра-во] — Government;
- [Армия] — Ministry of Defense;
- [ЦБ] — Central Hospital;
- [СМИ] — Mass Media;
- [ГИБДД] — State Traffic Safety Inspectorate;
- [УМВД] — Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs;
- [ФСБ] — Federal Security Service;
- [ФСИН] — Federal Penitentiary Service.
You may also be asked about tags in a promotion test: “Which tag should you use when contacting the department?” — “[ГИБДД] or [УМВД], depending on your organization.” Find the other questions in the Traffic Police answers.
Don’t break these 10 rules
Each offense gets you a 30-minute chat block:
- MetaGaming — using information your character couldn’t know. Read more about what MG means.
- Posting without your organization’s tag.
- Going off-topic.
- Making grammatical mistakes.
- Claiming the government airwave from 22:00 to 8:00, inclusive.
- Starting OOC department chat with double parentheses ((…)).
- Posting “rollbacks”—writing *rollback*, ((!)), or similar.
- Holding the government airwave for more than 60 minutes.
- Failing to follow the chain of command or maintain a professional tone.
- Starting debates or arguments about anything.
Rules 4 and 6 are the easiest to break: a quick typo on your phone and “((why’s the airwave taken?))” both cost you the same thing—half an hour without chat. Check your message before sending it, and ask OOC questions in a private message.
Check these examples
Here’s what rule violations look like in practice. The numbers refer to the list above:
- “/d need help at the checkpoint” — no tag, rule 2;
- “/d [ГИБДД] to [УМВД] ((who’s on Discord today?))” — OOC chat in brackets, rule 6;
- “/d [СМИ] to [ALL] Claiming the government airwave at 23:00” — restricted nighttime hours, rule 5;
- “/d [ЦБ] to [ALL] Who took the airwave again?!” — arguing and breaking the professional conduct rule, rules 9 and 10.
Here’s a correct message: “/d [ГИБДД] to [УМВД] Requesting support for the crew at the checkpoint.” Tag, recipient, message—no brackets or emotion.
Write as if everyone can see your message: employees of all eight organizations can read /d. The FSB also has radios for monitoring government organizations (/rc and the OOC /rnc).
Claim the government airwave step by step
The government airwave is a time slot when your organization broadcasts an announcement through the press center, for example, an interview notice. Here’s what to do:
- 1
Pick a time slot: 10:00, 10:05, 10:10, and so on.
- 2
Ask over the radio if the airwave is free at that time.
- 3
Ask again a minute later, then wait 1 to 3 minutes for a reply.
- 4
If no one replies, announce that you’re claiming the airwave.
- 5
Leave your organization’s building, stand by the entrance, and fill out the press center form with /news.
Use these ready-made lines—replace the tag and time with your own:
Remember the time restrictions: you can’t claim the airwave from 22:00 to 8:00 or for more than 60 minutes.
This version of the radio rules is published for the Orange server. Other servers have sections with the same names, but the wording and tags may differ. Find the rules for your server on the official forum: select your server, then “Government Organizations.”
Radio rules are part of workplace discipline. Employees who abuse their authority are punished under the federal decree. General conduct rules are in the server rules.
