The Police Department handles searches, evidence and arrests, so the test has a lot of Criminal Code questions: 10 out of 29. The rest cover the charter and Administrative Code, and all of those answers are exactly the same as on the Traffic Police test. You take the test after you’ve been accepted as a regular officer. Once you pass, you get rank 2 and access to assignments.

Pass the HR department interview without mistakes
Before the charter test, you’ll have an interview by the Duty Unit: 8 questions about the project rules. The stakes are higher here: one mistake means you fail, and you have to wait 5 minutes to try again. The answers are the same across all government factions:

After you’re accepted, you’re a regular officer. The changing room is on the 1st floor, behind the “Rest Room” door. Find the charter for the test under Tablet → Factions → Documents.
Get your documents before you visit
Joining the Police Department costs just as much as joining the Traffic Police: you need level 4, a medical card, military ID, a weapons licence and a Category B driving licence. The quickest order is: Category B driving licence → medical card at the Hospital (₽5,000) → Army and military ID → weapons licence from the Government (₽30,000; law-abiding rating of at least 70). The licence lasts 30 days and is lost if your character is injured and ends up in the Hospital, so get it last, right before the HR department.
Learn the one answer that’s different
The only question where the Police Department and Traffic Police answers differ in meaning is the one about the department radio tag. The correct test option includes both: “Tag — [ГИБДД] or Tag — [УМВД] (depending on the organization).” The other 28 answers are identical. If you’ve already taken the Traffic Police test and transferred, there’s nothing new to study.
The charter traps are the same as for traffic officers: accessories are “glasses only” (the Army and Prison Service allow “glasses and masks”), the leadership ranks are colonel and lieutenant colonel, and you can attack a civilian first only if they’re wanted.
Connect the Criminal Code to Police Department work
The Traffic Police focus on the Administrative Code, while Police Department work revolves around the Criminal Code: searches, evidence and arrests. To answer the 10 Criminal Code questions, just remember these pairs:
- bodily harm — 1 year for a civilian, 2 years for a government employee;
- murder — 4 years for a civilian, 5 years for a government employee;
- attempted car theft — 1 year; car theft — 2 years;
- unlicensed weapons and disobeying an officer — 2 years each;
- selling banned substances — 3 years; bribing a government employee — 5 years.
These articles become assignments on duty
According to the in-game guide, Police Department assignments include “Search,” “Evidence,” “Arrest” and raids. Banned items found during a search count as evidence and must be handed in at the Duty Unit. Search a car by using this command at the trunk:
To search a home, get a warrant from the Duty Unit. The Government signs it through an employee of rank 7+ or a bailiff; it takes 2 minutes. You have 2 minutes to search once inside, and you can’t enter again. Add charges and mark someone as wanted through the log using /base. Find the other commands in the command list.
Don’t shoot first if they aren’t wanted
The question “When can an officer attack a civilian first?” matters most on the test, because getting it wrong while on duty can cost you money and your place in the faction. Since 2022, a law enforcement employee who kills someone who isn’t wanted loses law-abiding rating. If it falls below −500, you lose your weapons licence, and you can’t serve in the Police Department without it. Law-abiding rating recovers slowly: +1 for each PayDay (the end-of-hour payout) if you’ve spent at least 20 minutes in-game that hour.
If the admins get involved, the general penalty for DM (killing without an IC reason) is 90 minutes in demorgan (Jail). A government employee who commits mass DM on their organization’s territory gets a warn. A warn automatically removes you from the faction and blocks you from joining any other faction for 10 days; three warns get your account blocked for 10 days. Choose between the Police Department and Traffic Police
The test and requirements are the same, so choose based on the work and pay. Here’s what the hourly salary table from one server (Kaluga [79]) looks like:

At the start, the difference is a few hundred rubles; at rank 2, the Police Department pays more. I’d choose based on the kind of work you like: Traffic Police means checkpoints, radar and chases; the Police Department means searches, warrants and arrests.
